The witch had grown to like the area outside the desert. It was easier to find food and she was finding new ways to enhance her magic. Again she invited the snake to the greener land, but the snake stayed well within the boundaries of the desert. Meanwhile, the snake demanded that his slave continue to bring him more plants and flowers---he was fascinated by the bounty of that other, green world, but was too scared to actually enter it.
